The Inaugural International Society for Moral Psychology Conference

September 18-19, 2026

Theme: Connecting, Advancing, and Nurturing Moral Psychology

The International Society for Moral Psychology (ISMP) invites submissions for presentation at our Inaugural Conference to be held in-person September 18-19, 2026 at Cornell University, Ithaca, NY.

Please submit an abstract of 500 words or less, uploaded as a pdf to the submission page (coming soon) by May 1, 2026, 11:59pm EST on a topic relevant to moral psychology. Include a 75-word brief description of the the paper that reads like an Abstract. 75-word description does not count toward the word limit. Include references. References will not count toward the word limit.

We welcome submissions from various disciplines including but not limited to philosophy, psychology, linguistics, neuroscience, cognitive science, medicine, religion, and law. Submissions will be refereed for quality and relevance to ISMP, which aims to promote broader impacts of and participation in moral psychology around the world. We are especially interested in submissions of research on cross-cultural moral psychology and reports on cross-cultural moral psychology research collaborations.

Authors may be first author on no more than 1 submission but may co-author multiple submissions.

Authors will indicate whether they would like to be considered for a talk in a symposium (up to 30 min), a poster, or a data blitz rapid talk. Empirical papers should include a brief description of sample characteristics, methods, and analysis.
